| Brindley Place
|
Prince of Wales | In Cambridge Street behind the convention Centre. Pub can be relied upon for a good atmosphere (sadly can't say that for many city centre pubs in Birmingham). Live jazz on Sunday afternoons. They sell food but there's many better places to eat. | February 2004 (CA) |
| Malt House | We had couple of bevvies in the Malt House pub right on the canal side and very enjoyable it was too. | March 2005 (PK) | |
| Dudley No. 2 Canal, Windmill End | Olde Swan a.k.a. Ma Pardoes | A 10 minute walk in Netherton centre. Legendary real ale pub recently restored to its previous magnificence (both architecturally and beer quality). Apparently there's a restaurant discretely added at the side but surely no-one goes there to eat ? ! | February 2004 (CA) |

| Brindley Place | Sainsbury's Local | Just around corner in Broad Street (head out of town) | February 2004 (CA) |
| Brindley Place | Tesco | 5 minutes beyond Sainsbury's local - just too far though to carry heavy stuff. | February 2004 (CA) |
| Dudley No. 2 Canal, Hawne Basin | Coombeswood Canal Trust | A charitable society that runs moorings, shop, pump out, fuel and gas. It's a long way to go for a bottle of gas but the welcome you get is tremendous | February 2004 (CA) |

| Brindley Place | Shops, pubs, restaurants, city centre | Great place to moor bang in the centre of Birmingham - plenty of tourists to ask daft questions !. Probably too noisy on Friday and Saturday nights though. | February 2004 (CA) |
| Oozells Street | Shops, pubs, restaurants, city centre | Literally around the corner from Brindley Place but it's on a towpath dead end so no tourists or revellers. | February 2004 (CA) |
| Dudley No. 2 Canal, Windmill End | Nature reserve with visitor centre; old mining area; remains of engine house | Popular mooring spot in summer though quiet in February | February 2004 (CA) |
| Engine Arm (end) | BW facilities | A secure site with impressive BW facilities building (toilet, big showers, laundry, self pump out) | February 2004 (CA) |
| Old Main Line, Black Country Museum | Museum | Secure moorings either on tow path, or more atmospherically on non towpath side which is part of museum. Arrive at about museum closing time and there's no need to pay. If you've got a day to spare pay and tour the site. | February 2004 (CA) |
| Titford Canal | Engine House | Moor on Tat Bank Branch which can only be accessed by boat or through a gate with a BW key. | February 2004 (CA) |

| Digbeth Branch, Ashted Tunnel | Narrow tunnel | The non towpath side walls bulge inwards at a couple of points within the tunnel. Strongly suggest that with Rodbaston someone holds the front and centre ropes from towpath to ensure the cratch cover does not make contact with brick work. Also consider filling tank with water and lower level of pound to reduce height - TAKE CARE ! | February 2004 (CA) |
