Bridge 15, Watling Street Lime Kilns Former traditional pub now upgraded to family and "fayre" style pub. It's OK for a couple of beers and a meal though. April 2004 (CA)

Bridge 25 or 27, Stoke Golding George & Dragon This place has a mock Chinese restaurant in the back room. Food was OK but everything was obviously micro waved. Bar at front was very popular. April 2004 (CA)

Snarestone Tunnel, south portal The Globe Good pub, good beers and a big stack of old and new canal magazines to read. Make sure to get there before 2 pm if you want a lunchtime meal. April 2004 (CA)

Bridge 17, north side, Trinity Marina Shop Rare opportunity to buy bread and milk close to canal. April 2004 (CA)

Good & Bad Moorings

Bridge 15, Watling Street Pub, water Moorings either side of bridge - overnight traffic on Watling Street could be noisy if moored too close to bridge. Take care if you have to cross Watling Street to get to pub. April 2004 (CA)

Bridge 17, north side, Trinity Marina Shop, Restaurant / Pub Modern marina with convenient tow path moorings alongside restaurant. April 2004 (CA)

Bridge 25, Stoke Golding Village pubs & shops "Nicest" moorings are between Bridges 27 & 28 but Bridge 25 is equally convenient for village up the hill from the canal (towpath may be muddy though). It's close to Ashby Canal hire boat base so may be busy on changeover days. April 2004 (CA)

Snarestone Tunnel, south portal Pub The pub is just up the steps. Beware - there are no shops in Snarestone April 2004 (CA)
